An NILD™ Educational Therapist holds a bachelor's (or higher) degree in education or a related field and has been trained by NILD to work with students who have learning disabilities.
The therapist may work in a school setting, as a private practitioner or through a Discovery Program, Inc. http://discoveryprogram-inc.com/
As of January 1, 2007 all practicing educational therapists and parent educational therapists need to be registered and licensed in order to use NILD® materials.
An NILD™ Registered Educational Therapist either possesses all three levels of certification or is working toward full NILD™ certification (CET).
